Cheyenne Weimaraners

Cricket & Easton
Update: Cricket did not get pregnant from the breeding to Easton in December.
We will attempt to breed her again, however it will likely be to one of our own dogs.
Once we have puppies on the ground from her, we will revisit this breeding to Easton.

The Dam:  “Cricket”
GCh. Cheyenne's Love Bug JH
OFA CHIC Hip: Fair
, Elbows Normal
CERF: Normal, Thyroid: Normal
AKC Reg#:  SR81811001
Height: 24.5"    Weight: 55#

The LOVE BUG!

Cricket is a stunning bitch with uncontainable enthusiasm. Her tail literally never stops wagging!

Cricket started her show career with a bang! Group I at her very first fun match  She followed that up with a Group II in Puppy Sweeps and a major win her first weekend out. She finished with 3 majors the day after her first birthday. She earned a placement in her futurity and made the cut at her first appearance at a national event. Cricket is also showing in Junior Showmanship with Bailee Rodgers of Casper, WY.

Cricket gives me goosebumps watching her work in the field. She has range and intensity, style and enthusiasm. She completed her JH with no formal training and already has legs toward her JHA title.

We're excited to see what the next chapter brings.

It's difficult to put into words what this bitch does to me. I already HAD a  dog. I didn't NEED another one. I didn't DESERVE another one. I am already so blessed in that department. And yet inexplicably, here she is. I have only to catch her gaze and her tail starts wagging. A smile and her whole butt wiggles. One word and she can't hold back any longer!  I can't hold back any longer.
She is -- pure JOY.

Cricket @ 16 months old.

We had planned on breeding Cricket to JD, unfortunately it was not meant to be. I could say we "settled" on breeding to his son, but I hardly feel we settled, Easton is a beautiful Weimaraner and was on our short list of portential future studs anyway. He has a lot of the wonderful qualties that attracted us to his sire.

We love his beautiful head and intelligent, keen expression, moderate size and substance, comanding prescence and lovely movement!

Multiple Best of Breed Winner
Multiple Group Placer
Specialty AOM Winner

This is an outcross breeding
Coefficient of Inbreeding (COI): 4.3%
Pedigree for this litter
.

We employ a breeding strategey used by most long-term successful breeders, approximatelay 75% line breedings, 25% outcross. We do this to have a higher degree of predictablity in the outcome and to have a better chance at identifying traits to avoid. When we do outcross, we try to find dogs whose "pheno-type" (their physical traits) are similar to our dogs and to what we believe the ideal Weimaraner should be. Easton fits this bill to a "T"! We were pleased with the consistency in the puppies produced with JD and Pip, we expect Easton and Cricket to produce similar results.

On the morning of February 14, 2014, we welcomed 7 Valentines day SWEETHEARTS into the world, 5 girls & 2 boys. One of them, Cricket aka Cheyenne's Love Bug.

Meanwhile, 1300 miles away in Washington, a friend of mine was keeping pretty busy herself. Mindy Wilson whelped 7 SWEETHEARTS of her own, 5 boys & 2 girls. One of them, Easton.

At the time I quipped, "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers! LOL"
I am so pleased to see this prediction come to fruition and I can't wait to meet these Country Bugs!

Puppies from these beautiful dogs will be $1500.

Puppies available to both competition and companion homes.
