We are still not sure Sasha is going to be a show dog.   In fact, I wasn’t sure he was going to even survive being born.   Whelped via a C-section, he was just 9 ounces and suffered from the affects of the anesthesia.  He looked like a drowned mouse.  But thanks to the persistence of the vet tech, they were able to revive him and he never looked back.   When we  temperament test ed him at 7 weeks, it indicated a stubborn streak a mile long.  If this puppy decided he did not want to do something, good luck trying to convince him to do it!

Plus his  puppy “suit” was a couple sizes too big for him, making him look like a silver bloodhound. . .   So we placed him with a wonderful family where he would be 9 year old Shania’s best friend and companion.   And we resolved ourselves to the idea that Sasha would probably never get to strut his stuff in the show ring.  Sigh. . .

Though polar opposites, both Sasha and Sparky are very striking youngsters, but for completely different reasons.   Sparky has a deep, dark gray coat, Sasha’s coat is platinum silver, both perfectly acceptable shades of gray, but much less common than the typical mouse gray of most weimaraners.  Sparky is beauty in moderation.  There is nothing extreme about her.  Her proportions are near perfect.  Sasha, on the other hand, is built like a sports car.  His deeper angles provide an eye-catching profile, but will require focus and coordination to perform at his best.  Both have gorgeous head-pieces, personality and enthusiasm to spare and a “look at me” presence.  Sparky has had the benefit of growing up in a very structured environment; free spirited Sasha is like trying to fly a kite in a hurricane, a challenge to say the least!  Sasha is a head turner.   Now if we can just tame his wild side. . . .
